About us

Lonely Lake Woodworks’ workshop is located in Lac Seul First Nation, in the heart of the boreal forest of Northwestern Ontario. “Lonely Lake” is a rough translation of the name of the lake we live on: Lac Seul. The lake and the forest have sustained our people throughout history and it is with pride and gratitude that we share unique and customized products that reflect our Anishinaabe culture and the beautiful area in which we live.

We share our site with the Lac Seul Sawmill, which supplies us with the rough-cut timbers we need to produce beautiful, hand-made furniture and structures to enhance your home, office or camp environment.  All of our products are made from wood harvest from the Lac Seul Forest, which is the first Enhanced Sustainable Forestry Licensed (eSFL) Forest in Ontario.

The Lac Seul Forest is managed by Obishikokaang Resources Corporation, also owned and operated by Lac Seul First Nation. It was the first forest in Ontario to be managed by a First Nation.

By purchasing from our Cabin Collection or our Fine Furnishings Collection, you support local jobs, economic development and sustainable forestry practices and products. Thank you for choosing Lonely Lake Woodworks!
